t’s coming on Christmas. Joni Mitchell wrote that in a song called “The River.” It’s maybe one of my favorite two Christmas songs. The other is a new song called, “I Dream of Christmas.” Musical Miss wrote it.
Even with my physical pain, which I finally bombed into submission with some heavy narcotics, I worked my butt off to promote this new work. We were at Rockefeller Center’s Christmas Tree Lighting. We froze our butts off on the top of The Empire State Building. In between, we went to The Kennedy Center Honors to sing for that very same Joni.
Between physical pain and all of that I’m very tired. And, emotional. Tears come too easily. But, they are tears of joy and remembrance. I’ve done a lot of things in my lifetime. I seem to be seeing them all at once. Sometimes, when I tell people about a couple of them, they suggest I write a book.
I respectfully decline saying that I really have nothing to say. In fact, my life is too disjointed to make sense of. I’ve done a lot of things that seemed to fit together at the time. I’m not sure that they do.
I’m not done yet.
I have a new project for 2022. Twelve years on the road. All pictures. I’m borrowing the title from a Natalie Merchant song called “Carnival.” I hope to get it into the marketplace by October — assuming logistics issues can be dealt with — for the Christmas market.
he picture. I saw a picture of a WWI German U-boat’s command center. It was all wheels. I liked it so I made my own. That’s the base of what you are looking at. I added a layer of organics… plants. I made the colors wowie-zowie. That’s a technical term in case you are wondering. And, I published it here. On Storyteller.
Boy. I like those narcotics.
