The big show.
It began last night. Carnival 2017. Mardi Gras 2017. Krewe du Vieux 2017. The first parade of parade season. A small parade. Or, rather, it used to be. I have no idea how to count people when the wind through the tiny streets of The French Quarter and The Marigny. But, I’d say well of 75,000 people were out and about. I remember when this used to be a little bitty parade. But, not these days.
You know me. I like to work around the edges. So that’s what you’re seeing. Anybody can take pictures of a parade. Even me. Finding the unusual or something a little decisive is what makes me happy. Happiness matters. Right? No worries. I have more pictures. Many more pictures. Too many pictures.
The pictures. Oh, you know. Get there early. Take pictures on the way to some place else. Walk a lot. Look around a lot. Shoot a lot. As much as you can. Don’t worry about chimping. Don’t even think about deleting — ever. And, keep moving.
