Yesterday was rough.
Today is better. Much better.
I thought that I would post a picture from a couple of Mardi Gras ago when I was walking to photograph Krewe du Vieux from the French Quarter side, rather than down in The Bywater where it begins.
I’m pretty sure that this was the best picture of the night even though it had nothing to do with the actual event. It’s a very typical French Quarter scene made in front of a food store. I happened to stop on the corner to let a car pass by and saw this. I waited until the guy in the hoodie was in the light and made a picture.
That’s all it was. Luck. Photographer’s luck.
The lighting on this photo is mesmerizing! Very cool!

Ray well done. You made the picture speak to me of the space and event.

Thank you. I’ve sort of lost that mojo for right now.

Time, these are archive pictures that I’m working through as I build my new website. The good news is that I was stuck in traffic and growling. The light was wonderful. The scene was wonderful… and I couldn’t do anything about it.

That os what it is. I very rarely shoot “broad daylight” pictures, but the clouds, light filtering through them onto one of those bronze colored buildings was amazing.
