A little quiet might be in order today.
I need to get into my zone. Two second lines to photograph this weekend. One today, which is the rescheduled parade for the Young Men Olympia Jr second line which was postponed because of rain. The rain which barely fell. And, there is the regularly scheduled parade for Sunday — Family Ties Social Aid and Pleasure Club.
I was only going work one of them, but I reckon that I should shoot both. After all, my work is the prayer. Not only was there the mass killings on Thursday, but we New Orleans photographers lost one of our own on Friday. Sydney Byrd. A legend. She documented a lot of the same things that I do. But, she was among the first and I believe she dug in a little deeper. She was 71.
The picture. One of a few that I made on Thursday. This is an unnamed body of water in City Park. From one view it looks pretty swampy. From other views it looks clear and sparkling. A few leaves are starting to turn. Autumn. Finally.
